Born and raised in central Jersey, I left the first chance I got, becoming a bit of a nomad for the better part of a decade. After my wanderings had brought me through much of the Midwest and the South, living at times in Wisconsin, Missouri, Maryland, and elsewhere, this native son returned to my ancestral homeland a few short years ago. Having traveled throughout the country, it was with great surprise to myself that I began falling in love for the very first time with the land of my roots. This was in no small part due to the singular oasis set amid the dull desert of suburban sprawl and strip malls of this state that is New Brunswick. I worked hard since moving here to make this city my own; you’re unlikely to find a single bouncer, busboy, or bartender on George Street or Easton Avenue who’s unfamiliar with “The Cowboy of Collage Ave.”
New Brunswick, nicknamed “Hub City,” is a seat of business, culture, and learning representing the best of all New Jersey has to offer. Knowing and loving this city better than perhaps anyone else, I’m taking it upon myself to be your personal travel guide to Hub City, providing you with the definite word on where to go and what to do, regardless of whether you’re visiting for the first time or have lived here you’re whole life, starting over the next several weeks with a comprehensive guide to the very best restaurants and bars. See you around town!
